Randy Kjerstad has been creating art and refining his skills since 1994. He grew up in South Dakota, and has lived in California, and New Mexico. He lives in Gillette, Wyoming with his wife and two children and also works as a licensed professional counselor.

Kjerstad is primarily a self-taught artist. His mediums of choice include oil, acrylic, mixed media, and block printing. His imagery is generally loose from realism, opting instead for expressionistic symbols and forms. Creative inspiration and influences include expressionism, poetry, and nature. All framed works are presented in frames which he designs and crafts by hand.

I have always been interested in art and enjoy the process of creating and experimenting with ideas. Art is like an open range, undefined, and without boundaries. It can be an adventure; the results often surprise me and I hope that continues.
